Free Home Shop becomes Free Home Utah

FreeHomeUtah.com is the new name for your favorite free Utah real estate advertising site.

The name was previously Free Home Shop, but some visitors expected to find home furnishings rather than Utah homes for sale.

Just as before, you can list your home for sale for free or upgrade for under ten bucks per month. Either way, you get a complete profile with photo, contact information, and a secure contact form which doesn't reveal your email address (optional).

Just as before, you can search for Utah real estate without registering unless you want to take advantage of free advanced features like saved searches, new match notification, favorite properties, and favorite property price change notification.

Just as before, listings can be listed as homes for sale or rentals.

Is Utah's Real Estate Market Diving?

The Utah home market has benefited in recent years from rising home prices in neighboring states including California, Nevada and Arizona. Unable to afford housing in those states, many buyers came looking in Utah instead.

Low interest rates supported the home buying boom, but as home prices in other states rose dramatically, sales eventually slowed, and Utah real estate is now showing a similar trend, at least in major markets like Salt Lake County, Utah County and Davis County.

Utah's economy remains strong, unemployment is low, but many potential buyers find themselves unable to qualify for the kind of home they dreamt of owning.

Time will tell whether the Utah boom is over or whether this slow-down is merely a market correction following recent price increases.

A friend to none." That's what conventional wisdom says, implying that no one can be a true friend to everyone.

Experience, however, shows the limitations of conventional wisdom. We've all known those people who are kind to everyone and while they won't do whatever anyone wants them to, they remain fair and considerate.

When I first set out to create the "perfect" real estate web page, I wondered if it could be done. After considering all sides (Realtors, buyers, sellers, FSBO's (for sale by owner), renters and property managers), I realized that not only could it be done, but that a site friendly to all parties actually serves them all better.

Realtors find buyers and sellers. Buyers and sellers find Realtors. Homes and apartments find buyers and renters and vice versa. Agents and FSBO's get the least expensive advertising around (free or very cheap) and FSBO's can even tell how much they'd be willing to pay a buyer's agent. Everybody wins.
